Additional Terms
VAT will be added at 20% to all labour and materials.
All work is chargeable at a minimum of the rates above. Hourly rate is per individual engineer. Work is deemed to have occurred if an engineer uses any tools or operates any gas, heating, or plumbing devices on site (whether to repair or investigate). Any additional, unquoted work requested while on site will be charged at the half hourly rate.
Further work will not take place until previous invoices have been settled.
Any work involving lifting carpet, flooring, creating access, or chasing walls may require additional specialist trades to make good. These are not included in the quote.
Parking and congestion charges will be added to your invoice. Where restrictions apply, the customer must provide a valid parking permit or pay for any enforcement charges. Parking must be available within 80 meters of the address.
Estimates/invoices do not include any waste disposal. All waste will be left on site.
All estimates are based on the information provided and expected time/difficulty of work. Costs may increase if work becomes more complicated. Any increase will be discussed and agreed before work begins.
Estimates do not include materials unless specifically stated and agreed.
Missed call outs incur a fee of £100. This includes restricted access or inability to conduct agreed work for any reason.
Short notice cancellation fees may apply if appointments are cancelled within 48 hours of the agreed time.
A deposit will be required for materials exceeding £500.
Work involving human waste, hazardous substances or harmful materials will incur a surcharge of at least £100 + VAT.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–16:00.
All invoices must be paid by bank transfer within 7 days of work completion.
Late payments incur a charge of £100. Interest will be added at Bank of England base rate + 8%. Example: Debt x interest rate x (days late/365) = interest + £100 late fee. Interest applies to gross debt including VAT.
Materials not supplied by us are not guaranteed. Work altered by third parties is not guaranteed.
Any concerns must be raised in writing as soon as they arise. We must be given the opportunity to complete any agreed remedial work. No guarantee is offered for incomplete work or where we’ve not had reasonable access.
Damage caused by existing faulty items due to age, wear and tear, or poor maintenance is not covered. Examples include stopcocks, valves, pipework, woodwork, brickwork, fixtures, or fittings damaged during normal operation.
Any leaks following disconnection and reconnection of existing fittings are the result of poor maintenance or original fitting, and not the fault of the engineer.
